In a gale
First show of a run of three and the 30th show at the venue. Not a strong run, but this show is good for those that want to focus on Hornsby. He's heavy in the mix (more so than Vince) and the focal point of many of the songs.
First Set. Opener Cold Rain & Snow focuses on accordion. Wang Dang has some lyric snafus but is basic GOGD. Dire Wolf is stulted by too many cooks. Queen Jane is dominated by iffy accordion and Bobby-shout. They bring an odd, circus/calliope sound to Althea, but Jer is game in places. It's All Over Now is the peak of the set, if not the show. A good example of a '92 version. The rest is average Bruce/Vince era.
Second Set. Jer skips to the third verse, but China Cat has some nice moments. Rider is tamed and understated, as is Playing in the Band. Terrapin is a little sketchy until Jer leads a MIDI jam after 12½mins; the most interesting part of the set. Drums was peaking round this time, but Last Time is strangely anemic. Black Peter is the second-best moment of the set. The rest is below average, but look for Bruce's jam in Around and his Hava Nagila tuning.

maybe It's All Over Now
